Hello parents! As part of my senior project I am doing a book drive for the school. All donations will be contributed to building our new library. My goal is to get our students more excited about reading. We will be collecting donations from March 30th to April 10. We are doing a friendly competition between grades. The grade that collects the most books will get a prize. We are asking for young adult, fiction, fantasy, etc. Any additional donations will be donated to local libraries or hospitals.

Dear Parents, Lucy is a senior at KCA and is hosting a one-man concert and fundraising event at SK8BAR in Westport. It is an all ages show and event space. However, since there are alcohol sales on the premises, we are not advertising the event directly to students. This is not a school event, but we wanted to give you and your family the opportunity to support Lucy.

 

Do you like alternative pop music, meeting new people, and supporting a good cause? Then come to Spectral Magnolia's CURSED BONES concert at SK8BAR on Wednesday, April 1st! The show is completely free to attend and open to all ages. It starts at 6:30 and will end around 8. The address is 209 Westport Rd, Kansas City, MO. The show is to advertise my fundraiser with the Arthritis Foundation. If you donate, you will be entered to win a free SIGNED CD of your choice (DM @spectralmagnolia on Instagram with proof you've donated). We are trying to reach $500 and currently only have $55 raised. Please consider donating if you can as arthritis and discrimination against those who have it is an incredibly prevalent issue and one that has affected me personally. Calum

I am making a documentary focusing on why people came to KCA and how this community has helped them feel more stable, sure in themselves, and understood. This school means a great deal to so many people and everyone deserves a community such as this one. In order to make the documentary feel as KCA as possible, I think it’s vital to have some “action shots” of the school's liveliness. I plan to take a few videos of kids walking around the school, studying, chatting with their buddies, and just overall showing how much we love and care about each other. So Katie and I wanted to check with you parents on how you might feel about some students being recorded throughout Monday the 30th of March! If you do not want your student recorded, please email Katie.
