6th and 7th Grade ELA/SS Teacher
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative educator to join our team as a 6th and 7th grade ELA/SS teacher. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching middle school students and a deep understanding of the ELA and Social Studies curriculum.
Responsibilities:

Create and implement lesson plans that align with research-based standards for ELA and Social Studies.

Design and administer assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed.

Provide feedback and support to students to help them reach their academic goals.

Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports the diverse learning needs of all students.

Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop and implement school-wide initiatives.

Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to keep them informed of their child's progress and any concerns.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (Master's degree preferred)

Valid teaching certification in ELA and Social Studies

Part-Time Bookkeeper
The Part-time Accountant is responsible for running and recording monthly payroll, processing, and recording accounts payable activity, and maintaining the accuracy of fiscal tracking documents and files. This position provides bookkeeping tasks to ensure that KCA adheres to best practices and requirements for non-profit business operations and reporting. Confidentiality, efficient time management, excellent organizational skills, and attention to accuracy are essential qualifications for this position. This part-time position, a maximum of 20 hours per week, will report to the Principal.
Responsibilities

Provides financial information to the Principal by researching and analyzing accounting data and preparing reports.

Documents financial transactions by entering account information.

Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.

Summarizes current financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statements, and other reports.

Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
-
Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
-
Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
-
Secures financial information by maintaining 3 days of QuickBooks backups.
-
Maintains financial security by following internal controls.

Prepares payments by verifying documentation

Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management on needed actions.

Protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
-
Responsible for essential tasks relating to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable as directed by the Principal and in accordance with KCA’s accounting policies and procedures.

Responsible for maintaining the general ledger in QuickBooks.
-
Other duties as assigned.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
-
Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
-
3-4 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities.

Proficient with Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel.

Experience with accounting software. Experience with QuickBooks is a plus.

Experience with payroll systems.

Experience and comfort with the use of telephone, computer systems and software, and office equipment.
