Dual Enrollment

Dual enrollment gives our students the opportunity to earn college credit while still in high school. Eligible students can enroll in courses that count toward both high school graduation requirements and a future degree or certificate. Dual enrollment will serve to expand students’ learning, academic independence, and prepare them for success beyond high school.
KCA Eligibility Requirements and Enrollment Details
-
Juniors and seniors are eligible to enroll in approved dual enrollment courses through MCC.
-
Students must be able to drive themselves to the MCC campus (or arrange for parents or guardians to drive them).
-
Online courses are recommended. If a student decides to enroll in an in-person course, it must meet after 2 p.m. Students are expected to maintain their KCA class schedule.
-
Students must be at KCA on the days that the in-person course is not in session, spending that time in a study hall.
-
Students will receive a tuition credit matching the cost of the course (not including additional fees, including books or campus fees).
-
Students must meet with a Student Success Counselor at MCC to discuss a plan of study. The student, parents/guardians, and counselor must complete the Dual Enrollment Agreement and Planning Form before attending classes. Find form here: Dual Enrollment Program Agreement & Planning Form
-
Successful completion of an approved dual enrollment course (3 credit hours) will result in students receiving 0.5 high school credit.
-
Students are responsible for requesting their MCC transcript and submitting it to KCA within two weeks after the college posts their semester grades.
-
We recommend that families get started immediately with application and placement testing as classes begin August 19, 2026.
