OUR SCHOOL

Kansas City Academy is an independent middle and high school serving the Kansas City community since 1984.

At KCA, our student-centric education goes beyond a traditional school. We create an accepting, encouraging supportive, and nurturing community.

Students are empowered to find their voices, encouraged to question, and prepared to shape the future. Students learn in collaboration with teachers who challenge them and treat them with mutual respect.

A Kansas City Academy education combines rigorous academic content with active, engaged teaching and community service, along with real-world projects.

Though our community is small, we are always looking for others to join us. We hope you will. What happens here is transformative.

Principal's Message

Kansas City Academy is a school that strives to recognize each person as an individual and respect them as a human. We work hard to create and maintain a sense of belonging by valuing the inherent self-worth of each member of our community. When I first arrived at KCA I was in a meeting and listened as teachers discussed the needs of students for an upcoming school year. Each teacher knew every student in the building, whether they had that student in class or not. This only happens in a place where the staff cares more about students as people than test scores. It solidified my decision to join the school and I hope it tells you what we are all about. Whether you are a current or former student, a family member, one of our directors, or a community member who wants to learn more about our school, please reach out to me with any questions. I am always happy to talk to you about Kansas City Academy!
